points count

I joined Weight Watchers yesterday. There I said it. Now I have to follow through with some results. I'm pretty sure I understand the concept behind Weight Watchers and in theory I should be able to do this sort of program on my own. I know about moderation, calories, fat, etc., but when I stepped on the scale yesterday for my first weigh-in, it was painfully obvious I haven't been practicing what I evidently already understand. I'd love to lose 20 pounds, but I'd be happy if I plateau at 15 pounds. I'm also really hoping this will make my workouts more effective (you know, defined abs, buff arms and legs). I'll keep ya'll posted...I'll say this though: it's day 1 at 5:45pm and I'm starving...I have only 9 points remaining though. Carrots (0 points) here I come...

What?! Have you been posting pictures of some other girl? If not, the pretty girl on your blog is a twig! :)

Don't starve! You can do it! I will cheer you on! I am close to wedding weight, as you know, but ideally, I'd like to lose another 15-20 on top of that. It sounds like a lot, but I have to keep reminding people that I'm 5'3" and am far more overweight than people seem to think.

We can support each other!

You don't look like you need to lose any weight, but I can totally understand us women and our weight issues...we all have them

at work we had a clothing exchange party, which was fun. I realized that all the clothes I was giving away were size 2s and xs etc. I can't fit them anymore and that was only a year ago...sad sad sad

use your last 9 pts so you don't starve k?

you're crazy...15-20 pounds?!? I'm with weezer...you're already a twig! But good luck. You will totally lose it if you follow the plan. I did it a long time ago and lost weight quick! But now I can't stick to it since I'm always so hungry!

I agree, I don't see where 20lbs. is going to come from. I know where you're coming from though. It's tough in the beginning but you'll get the hang of and it'll get easier. I'll support you!

ditto the other gals. not exactly sure where 15-20lbs are going to come from....

i wish you lots of luck on your journey. i gained almost 10lbs post wedding -- enough to push me into a larger pant size, blah! -- and joined sparkpeople in february to get it (plus a few extra lbs) off. it isn't always easy, but we're here for you :)
