Turns out, it was a little too convenient. The Google office we were looking for was half way between Boulder and Denver {about 30 minutes}. Once we arrived, we had a quick tour of the office and had lunch in the cafeteria. Wow, hands down, best cafeteria lunch ever! While I enjoyed fresh salad, Rob opted for the veal. Yes, veal! All this is free to employees and their guests too. We skipped the dessert bar, but I left with a cup full of Google-colored M&Ms .
After lunch, we decided to continue on to Denver, since we were almost there. Other than Red Rocks Amphitheatre, I hadn't heard much about Denver. Coming from beautiful Boulder, I was slightly disappointed, however we only spent time in downtown Denver. I'll leave my opinion at that. We were only planning to spend one night in Denver, but when we realized that Stevie Wonder was in town the following evening, we opted to stay for two nights. We had a nice experience at the Hyatt, partly because upon inquiry for a recommended dinner location, the hotel manager escorted us to the 27th floor to have a complimentary cocktail and appetizer at the Peaks Lounge. Not a bad way to start our experience in Denver.
On Tuesday, the 1st, after sleeping in until nearly noon {very unlike us} and going for a walk, we were pumped and very well rested for Stevie!
We actually arrived a little late and missed a few songs, but what we saw could definitely be considered one of the best concerts either of us have ever attended. Such fabulous energy from the entire band and all the songs were awesome! I knew way more songs than I thought I would, which was fun.
We sat really far away on the lawn, but if you look close, you can see Stevie near my head
He sang "Isn't She Lovely" to his daughter (a song he initially wrote for her). Totally sweet! And when she cried, I bet most of the women in the audience also cried.
That's Denver in a nutshell! Next up...a brief lunch with Brent and Andrea in Crested Butte, where they mini-mooned, and Telluride...

Stevie played at my school my senior year - there is something so cool about knowing all the songs!
Lunch is free as a google employee? That is freaking incredibly awesome.
Free lunch for employees? Very cool! Glad it was a fun trip!
i;m drooling over the free lunch thing! so awesome!
I would weigh a million pounds if I worked at Google.
Stevie Wonder concert--so cool!
Free lunch is definitely a cool part of working at Google, but it's kind of like being a lawyer and getting a BlackBerry. Cool at first until you realize it's a way for the Man to control your life :)
Stevie is amazing! How awesome to see him in person!!!
I've read somewhere that Google hires professional chefs to make lunch for its employees. I'd be sooo fat if I worked there.
yeah, i remember reading that google feeds its employees quite well, and for free! i guess that's one way to make sure people come back from lunch on time :X
not gonna lie, i dig the pink beetle.
